Wildlife Protection & Animal Welfare Initiatives
When Projects Become Complex
Wildlife protection and animal welfare initiatives often involve complex challenges, changing circumstances and difficult decisions.
There may be many people involved, large amounts of information to process, competing priorities or projects that need to move forward within limited time and resources.
Sometimes what is needed is not another specialist, but someone who can step back, look at the whole situation and help bring structure to the next step.
Types of Support
Depending on the situation, support can include:
- Providing an independent second opinion on a project or important decision
- Reviewing and structuring complex information
- Helping identify underlying issues and dependencies
- Exploring possible approaches and alternative ways forward
- Helping prepare for important meetings or decisions
- Taking a fresh look at projects that seem to stall
- Providing temporary, focused capacity for a specific project or challenge
The exact form of support depends on what your organisation or initiative needs.
Who Is It For?
This type of support may be useful for:
- Wildlife protection organisations
- Animal welfare organisations and foundations
- Wildlife sanctuaries and rescue centres
- Non-profit organisations working with animals or nature
- New initiatives developing a wildlife or animal welfare project
- Small organisations that need additional independent capacity for a specific challenge
You do not necessarily need a large project. Sometimes a focused outside perspective can be useful precisely when a team is small and resources are limited.
What I Don’t Do
I do not replace veterinarians, wildlife specialists, biologists, legal professionals, financial experts or other subject-matter specialists.
My contribution is different: I bring an independent, overarching perspective to the situation and help connect the different pieces.
Where specialist expertise is required, I help identify the questions or areas that may need to be taken further with the appropriate professionals.
Sometimes a different perspective is enough to unlock the next step.
